A familiar face is back in the fold for the Toronto Blue Jays.
Former pitching prospect Adam Kloffenstein signed a minor-league contract to return to the club on Tuesday, Sportsnet's Shi Davidi reported.
He also receives an invite to spring training.
Robert Murray of FanSided was first to report the news.
Kloffenstein was picked by the Blue Jays in the third round of the 2018 draft before being shipped to the St. Louis Cardinals at the 2023 trade deadline in exchange for Jordan Hicks.
The 24-year-old made a brief MLB debut last season, pitching one perfect inning for the Cardinals.
In 17 starts with St. Louis' triple-A team last year, Kloffenstein was 4-5 with a 4.74 ERA and 73 strikeouts over 89.1 innings.
